Why I do yoga
I have spent much of my working life in various busy admin roles and I was first drawn to yoga as a means of exercising and stretching my muscles. But I soon became aware that yoga has so much more to offer.
When I was in my office job I always found going to a yoga class was like stepping into a different world. There is something about sitting on a yoga mat that is soothing and calming – this is a special space where things can be different. Like being on holiday for a short while - but without all the hassles of travel. And when I left each yoga class, it was like returning from holiday with a newly relaxed body and refreshed mind.
The more you practise yoga, the more you can carry that yoga world into everyday life, transforming the mundane into something special and meaningful.
Yoga is all encompassing – physically strengthening, mentally clarifying and, if you want it, spiritually uplifting.
These are the qualities, the lessons, I aim to teach and encourage students to develop in my yoga classes.

Having suffered with back pain for years and with a sedentary job, this made me consider Yoga. I was hooked from the first class I attended and now attend two of her classes. Thanks to Dominique my body is a lot more supple and now have the “tools” to ease the pain. Dominique is a wonderful teacher and I can fully recommend her classes. I started with gentle yoga on a Wednesday just over a year ago and now regularly attend dynamic and Ashtanga classes. I’m conscious of improved posture and upper body strength. I always leave a class having learnt something new about my body and mind which Dominique encourages us to explore in a welcoming and friendly environment. I can also recommend Dominique’s massages!
